Many people want fireworks at a wedding or corporate party, but they aren’t allowed everywhere. Venues refuse because of fire safety, insurance and neighbours, and indoors pyrotechnics are impossible. A pyrotechnic show is also expensive and needs permits. So the finale is more and more often built from other effects.
A pyrotechnic show
Real fireworks with shells in the sky are expensive and need an open site, approvals and a licensed pyrotechnician. For reference: in 2026 public tenders Barnaul put 8 minutes of fireworks out for 1.4 million rubles. A private wedding display is smaller, but the restrictions are the same: time, neighbours, fire safety, weather.
A fire show
Fire fans, staffs and poi. A fire show can be booked from 15–20 thousand rubles for a 5–10 minute act, rising with the number of performers and pyro elements. Outdoors only, or in a very large room with the venue’s permission. Spectators stand at a safe distance.
A laser show
Lasers draw beams across haze, walls or the sky. An indoor laser show for an event usually starts at a few tens of thousands of rubles, large outdoor shows cost several times more. It needs a haze machine, a dark room and an operator who keeps beams out of spectators’ eyes.
All three are beautiful, but guests only watch them. If fireworks are not allowed or not in the budget, here is what replaces them.
Cold fountains
A beautiful column of sparks by the stage, safe. But the effect is in one spot: guests see it from a distance and don’t take part. A set for 1–2 minutes costs from 15–30 thousand rubles.
Heavy and coloured smoke
Good for photos and the first dance. It is scenery in one zone, not a shared finale. Cleaning is needed afterwards.
Sparklers
Cheap, everyone holds their own. But indoors it is a fire hazard, the effect is short, and it leaves litter and smell.
Balloons and confetti
Affordable and fun, but more festive noise than one shared picture. Confetti takes long to clean up.
A light salvo from guests’ phones
Guests raise their phones and the whole room lights up at once. The host or sound engineer launches it from their desk. Works indoors and outdoors, with no pyrotechnics, permits or cleaning. The main difference: every guest takes part in the finale instead of looking at the stage.
Price from 10,000 ₽ per event. It isn’t a separate act: the finale is part of a show you can run as many times as you like during the evening.
What to choose by budget
- Up to 10 thousand: balloons and sparklers outdoors
- 10–30 thousand: a light salvo from the whole room’s phones
- From 30 thousand: a light finale plus cold fountains by the stage
