Concert advertising: formats, prices and what actually performs

A concert gathers what brands pay the most for: a live audience on an emotional high. People came on their own, paid for a ticket and spent several hours at the venue. That is why concert advertising has been sold for years in many formats. Here is what they are, what they cost and which of them can be measured.

Classic formats

Venue branding. Banners, press walls, entrance arches, branded lounge zones. The price depends on the scale: from tens of thousands of rubles at a club concert to millions at a major festival. It delivers reach and presence in guests’ photos, but the response is not measurable.

Screens and video ads. Ads before the show and during breaks. Cheaper than branding, but they compete with the phone in the viewer’s hand: during breaks people scroll their feed, not the screen.

Sampling and promo zones. Product giveaways, tastings, brand photo zones. Live contact, but expensive logistics: staff, stands, product. Conversion is counted manually by samples handed out.

Program integration. A mention from the stage, a brand contest, a branded set. The price is negotiable and depends heavily on the artist. The effect is estimated by eye.

The blind spot of all these formats

Classic concert advertising shares one problem: the brand pays for presence, not for action. How many people saw the banner, how many did anything, whether the brand kept anything after the event, nobody knows. The report comes down to venue photos and a traffic estimate.

A format with a measurable result: promo after the show

We approach concert advertising from the other side. First the audience takes part in a light show: they scan a QR code from the screen, raise their phones, and the whole hall flickers in sync with the music. For the sake of the show the page is opened not by a fraction of the hall but by almost everyone. And right after the show a sponsor promo opens in every participant’s browser: a coupon, a free bet, a campaign landing page, a prize draw.

Tests show a 25–30% conversion of show participants into promo clicks. Every click is visible in analytics via UTM tags, so the brand gets numbers instead of a photo report: scans, participation, clicks, leads. The mechanics are covered in the post-show promo article.

Examples: at the Krylya Sovetov vs Lokomotiv match the show led into a prize draw with Dodo Pizza prizes, 32% of participants clicked the promo, see the match case. At a match with Pari NN FC a free bet opened for viewers after the show.

How to compare formats by price

The honest unit of comparison is not the placement price but the cost of an acting contact: how much one person costs who did not just walk past a banner but opened the brand’s offer. For a banner or a screen this number is unknowable. For post-show promo it is calculated directly: the package price divided by the clicks from the report.

The show starts from 10,000 ₽ depending on audience size, sponsor promo is part of the package: see the calculator. Other advertising tools at events are compared in the 2026 tools overview, and how to build a sponsorship package out of this is in the sponsorship package article.
