Roman Orlovskiy, founder of Gromka.show – on football, theatre and interactive show technology

At “MyIzTech” we believe that behind every tech project there is a person with an interesting story. Today we introduce Roman.

👨‍💻 Roman is a frontend/fullstack developer with experience at the creative studio “Sirena”. But programming is only part of his many-sided biography.

Back in 2019 he built and fully automated the community vk.ru/foot_nn – a service for finding players for amateur football matches. People still post announcements, find teams and gather for games through his bot. Football remains one of his main hobbies.

🎭 The second passion is theatre. Roman helps the independent TChK Theatre (Nizhny Novgorod) and has even been on stage in the play “Mayakovsky in Yellow”.

🗯️ A separate passion is wordplay. Roman used to run a channel of puns, and some of his turns of phrase made it into the “outer internet”. A love of precise wording and unconventional thinking seems to have passed to his project too.

Today Roman develops Gromka.show – a technology that joins offline events with the capabilities of the audience’s mobile devices. It lets you synchronously control thousands of flashlights (and not only) at concerts, sports matches and other events, creating striking interactive shows.

It is not just a technical product, but the result of a symbiosis: community-building experience (the football bot), an understanding of theatrical performance (immersiveness) and a purely engineering approach (code, automation, architecture).
